WHAT MAJOR TO COMPLEE
TO HELP ME BECOME A COMPETENT HMONG TEACHER?
At Fresno State, the most appropriate major to do is the Bachelor Interdisciplinary Language Studies Option Hmong at the Linguistics Department.
Based on my 20 years of teaching Hmong language for children and college students, knowing linguistics and having taking Hmong classes will prepare future Hmong teachers to teach efficienty, and to meet the needs of students who want to improve their speaking, writing and reading skills.
This BA Interdisciplinary Language Studies option Hmong also prepare well future Hmong interpreters and translators.

COURSE LING 121: Hmong Language, Culture & Identity
This is a unique course to take at Fresno State.
You will learn the Hmong culture that will help you to connect and work with the Hmong people with linguistics and cultural competenency.
This course is taught in English.
If you wish, you can take it as an online course.
